1. Objectives of the project

The first special exhibition two years after the reconstruction and closing of
Chiayi Municipal Museum will focus on the story telling of “Stories of Chiayi”. By “Unboxing! Memory of Chiayi” and call for historical relics, it connects the public’s memory and imagination of lives in Chiayi at different times and arouse their affection and identification with Chiayi. From perspectives of multiple roles, it narrates the stories of Chiayi, shows various lives of people in Chiayi and conveys the local common lives by the diversity in order to reinforce the consciousness of cultural preservation and share more appealing and interesting “memory of Chiayi”.

2. Organization

3. Content

A theme should be based on one item exhibited. Types and time of the items are not limited. They should meet the following themes of Chiayi, well-preserved, secure and appropriate for this special exhibition (Types of items include photography/videos/ancient map/architectural models/graphic decoration/art work/souvenirs/books/letters/documents/common historical relics, etc.).

1. City landscape: items related to city landscape and natural landscape of Chiayi, such as scenic spots, nature, historical interests, streets, etc.
2. Industries: All industries in Chiayi, such as disappeared traditional industry, few old shops and fashionable takeout industry.
3. Events: issues related to the events at the time, such as the experience during earthquake, festival in the city, election or the establishment of featured public construction.
4. Figures: representatives in the ethnic group, family relatives, celebrities or unimportant persons or even the applicants themselves with appealing personal stories about Chiayi.
5. Time in school: Study time is always unforgettable in life; the stories related to school life such as the study in class, uniform and textbook.
6. Daily entertainment: interesting stories related to recreation and entertainment in life, from patriotic lottery in early times to Lotto of the present, from old toys to new online video games, snacks with the familiar taste and unique Chiayi delicacies, featured movie theaters of Chiayi, videotapes which grow with people, CD and DVD.

4. Time

From the date of announcement to July 31, 2020.

5. Collection

Please email the application (Attachment 1) and agreement (Attachment 2) to boxun.wu@bossmen.com or personally deliver or send them to the office of Chiayi Municipal Museum (No. 275-1, Zhongxiao Rd., East District, Chiayi City 600).

6. Evaluation and examination

(1) Method: It will invite the experts and scholars of museum to evaluate the historical relics collected.
(2) Time: The result will be announced before August 15, 2020 on the website of Cultural Affairs Bureau of Chiayi City and the applicants selected will be informed by telephone or email.

7. Rewards

Applicants who are selected for the following exhibition will be awarded with certificate of appreciation, special issue of the exhibition and gift coupon NTD 500 by the bureau in the public activity. (Single piece or all-in-one piece are considered as one piece; for instance, two single pieces and one all-in-one piece of Mr. Chia-Yi Wang are selected. He can obtain three special issues and 3 gift coupons NTD 500).

8. Participants’ rights

(1)Items exhibited will be properly protected and maintained.
(2) During the period of exhibition, the implementor Bossmen Co., Ltd. authorized by the bureau will be in charge of all the expenditures of delivery of items.

10. Others

(1) The organizer holds the right to terminate, modify and cancel the activity.
(2) Regarding the incompleteness of the regulations, the organizer shall provide the explanation at any time.
